In this week’s episode, I chat with Kate Marillat, a fellow tapper and the person who supported me with tapping during the most difficult time of my life.
Trigger warning; we discuss sudden death, widowhood and baby loss.
Kate shares with us her experience of grief following the death of her husband during lockdown. We hear the impact it had on both her and her children and how taking one day at a time was key. She describes to us the power of tapping, water, and breath and how not sitting in loneliness has been important. Her connection to the tapping community and the space they have held for her during this difficult time comes through profoundly.
Key takeaways:
- Grief is not linear
- Self-regulating our nervous system is so important especially when grieving with children
- Surrogate tapping can be a powerful way to tap on behalf of other people
- Your connection point to your loved one doesn’t have to be grief, it can be love
- Surrender is a life-long, daily lesson
- Tapping can really help with grief
Although this might be a difficult conversation for you at certain points, our intention is that you take some level of hope away; hope that life with grief gets easier.
